Our family recipes and love are the secret ingredients in our delicious Mexican food.
Back in 1970, grandma used to live across the street from an industrial factory in Mexico City.
The smell of her cooking attracted a group of local workers to knock on her door, They wanted to buy her delicious smelling food!
So, she started cooking for them, until one day she had a line up outside her house! It was time to rent a space.
She opened “a cocina Economica” which translates to ‘cheap kitchen”, All her food was made from scratch with fresh local ingredients each day,
In 1985, La Cocina—‘the kitchen’—was destroyed in the aftermath of the big earthquake. That loss marked the end of one chapter but became the beginning of another. Years later, we moved to Vancouver, where I started cooking my grandma’s beloved recipes. The rich flavors and comforting dishes quickly became a hit, just like they did with the workers back in Grandma’s day. Soon, Mi Casa—meaning ‘my house’—became the answer to the city's quest for authentic, Good Mexican Food.

In 2018, we took a leap of faith and shared our passion for Mexican cuisine at a local Farmer's Market. The very first item we sold was a batch of Grandma’s famous Tamales. They were a hit! That day, our cuisine became a part of Vancouver’s vibrant food scene, winning the hearts of food lovers far and wide.
